My Expertise

In 2008 Paul was an English language teacher. He signed up for a filmmaking course in Filmbase in Dublin. On this course he directed his first short film and he found his calling.

From there he made more short films, moving on to making the award-winning short documentaries, The Druid’s Cage & Freddy the Leprechaun. The Druid’s cage was screened on Irish sports channel, Setanta.

In 2010 Paul set up Vivid Eye Video, making 100’s of wedding films and working with corporate clients, really learning what type of videos got great engagement online. He learned that authentic videos that created emotion in the viewer got the most positive engagement.

In 2017 he was the Irish Wedding Awards Videographer of the year.

In January 2019 Paul started his new brand Social Video HQ, working with trusted production professionals to help businesses communicate their message online.

Social Video HQ brings all of Paul’s experience together to help his clients communicate with their audience online, through Video Production, Animated Explainers or Training to speak on camera or make their own videos.

  • Making your First Online Video – What Not To Do

If you can get your message across in 2 minutes, don’t take 10 minutes to get to the point. We are all video viewers and you know the first thing you look at when deciding to view a video is, how long is this video? We then make a split-second decision to play or move on. Keep your videos short and concise.
